Every time a pipe, cable, duct or cable tray passes through a fire-resisting wall or floor, it creates a potential route for fire and smoke. Fire stopping restores the fire resistance of that construction, so each compartment keeps doing its job.
Why it matters
Small, unsealed or badly sealed gaps can undermine an otherwise well-built compartment, letting fire, smoke and hot gases move between floors and rooms. Correctly installed fire stopping closes those routes and supports the building's overall fire strategy.
How we work
- A detailed survey of service penetrations and linear gaps, including above ceilings, in risers and in plant areas.
- Selecting tested, certified products for each penetration type and substrate, such as coated batts, sealants, collars, wraps and mortars.
- Careful installation with attention to annular gaps, seal depths, edge details and movement.
- Photographs, locations and product details recorded for every seal, with labelling where required.
New build, refurbishment and remedial works
Whether you are delivering a new building, refurbishing an existing one or acting on actions from a fire risk assessment, our teams provide practical, compliant fire stopping that fits around your programme and works alongside your other passive fire measures.
